Pure & Original Marrakech Wall Paint
Marrakech Wall Paint is a specialty paint product that provides a striking and dimensional finish utilizing a troweled technique, similar to a Venetian plaster or “concrete” look. The dimension can be enhanced by burnishing with a trowel after the finish has dried. For subtle dimension just burnish lightly.
In addition to offering a stunning finish for walls, Marrakech is equally stunning on furniture, particularly on table tops. It can also be used on any surface where an aged but dimensional finish is desired.
Wall Prim (tinted) is STRONGLY recommended as a base for ALL Marrakech applications.
(1) Application, Coverage and Dry Time
Marrakech is applied in one or two coats with a brush and the Marrakech Trowel. (Our Fresco Brush works wonderfully, but is not required). If a tinted Wall Prim is selected, then the Marrakech application is normally just a single coat. The paint MAY be diluted with water but some colors will not require it. Normally the darker the color the more water you may need. If dilution is needed, add water slowly and mix in gently! The paint should be relatively thick, but you should also be able to brush it on with ease. You will notice that the paint is exceptionally dark as it is applied, but it will dry to color. While Marrakech's dry time is 2-3 hours, the second coat (if desired) should be applied at least eight (8) hours later. Coverage: 55-65 sf per liter (25-30 sf per pint)
Like Classico, Marrakech is an environmentally-friendly product. It is a natural, lime-based paint composed of 100% natural pigments.
(3) 150 Colors
Marrakech is available in 150 of Pure & Original’s colors. These are rich, warm, earthy colors that enhance and enrich the surfaces they are applied to.
(4) Top Coats Available
Dead Flat Eco Sealer is an excellent option as a protective, washable top coat. It is ideal for high-traffic or high-humidity areas (such as bathrooms and kitchens) or on heavily-used surfaces. The Eco Sealer does not change the finish, but it WILL enhance the color. Alternately, you may use Lime Soap or wax. These will also enhance the color, but not with quite as much intensity as the Eco Sealer.
** Note: It is important to wait 7-10 days before applying a top coat to the Marrakech finish, allowing time for the paint to fully cure. **
